The same reasoning is probably why they’re around the perimeter with sections missing (guessing OP doesn’t have auto-repair turned on).

Why did you put fences around your walls?
They slow raiders, they can burn, and they’re cheap. Which is why they’re in the kill box. The same reasoning is probably why they’re around the perimeter with sections missing (guessing OP doesn’t have auto-repair turned on).
