hello people of lemmy. im looking to experiment with tucking, and this is the method that seems best. what are some cheap (sub $25 id hope??) brands/ specific products yall reccomend for all day tuck. must be on amazon, ebay, or etsy (though id prefer amazon. least suspicious charge on card lol). thank you all :)

I think I’m a bit of an outlier with this, but I’ve tried both Leolines and TomboyX, and I’ve gotten the best results from just using 2 pairs of XXS boyshorts from Amazon. To reduce skin-to-skin contact, I also like to add on some very wide gusset boyshorts on top, and tuck the sides of the gusset between each leg. I find this very comfortable, very effective, and very cost-effective. I think the best way to figure out what works for you is to experiment and be resourceful. If you constantly test new ideas, your arsenal will slowly grow until you’re eventually an expert!

I used Amazon basics, but that’s because they were the only boyshorts on Amazon with an XXS small size. You may or may not need something that small, so you might want to experiment with sizes.

Edit: I think the size and material is much more important than the brand.

That’s a good question. It’s hard to say because I’m pre-op, and I haven’t looked at any size charts, so I’m not sure what size I would wear if I didn’t have to tuck. The rule of thumb I’ve heard is that you should go two sizes smaller than you would otherwise, and I think that’s about right, although I might go one additional size smaller

    Brands?

People don’t still make those out of a rectangle of leg and the waist band from a pair of drug store pantyhose?

Gaff, btw. The term is gaff.

Well, the best all-day solution for me was definitely LeoLines underwear, which is on etsy. No super cheap, but comfy. I even have a nice bikini from them. I tried using a gaff from another seller on etsy a few times but found it to be too uncomfortable. I’m not really disphoric regarding my genitals so I never really cared for a super smooth tuck apart from not letting it show through dresses or yoga pants. The leolines are a good compromise between comfy and a good tuck. But usually I just wear normal underwear that looks femme but also keeps everything in place.

You plan on wearing them to a specific event or why do you need them in time? Some people use shapewear as well I’ve heard. Maybe with a second pair of underwear even. You could try to find some on Amazon. There is definitely more info you can find if you google a bit. Good luck :)

I’d rather have them soon as I’ve got the house mostly to myself for the next 3 weeks.

          also what’s shape wear?

I guess the normal use of shapewear is to give your body a certain shape and press skin/fat tissue around (people like to look thinner). That is why shapewear can give you more support, because it is meant to change your shape anyways. This is no real tucking though, it is more to get a result where you don’t see a bulge through clothes. If you really want to tuck, like the painful method of stuffing stuff inside and then holding it in place with a gaff, you would need something a lot stronger. There are actual gaffs on etsy (they usually look like thongs) and they keep everything inside. So it depends what your aim is and how insecure you are about your bulge. As I said, real tucking was too uncomfortable to me and never felt actually necessary.
