I’ve been using an old iPad for reading comics but the screen size is just a tiny bit too small. The iPad Pro with a bigger screen is completely out of my price range.

Any devices that has a decent screen size and are affordable (in the EU)?

What are everyone else using?

Amazon Fire tablets have a decent screen. Can’t say much for the ecosystem or the app store, but if you’re mainly using it for comics, it’s workable.

I use the Fire HD 10 for reading comics. Very good screen for the price. The HD 11 Max just launched also.

If you check out TechTablets on youtube, he reviews some budget China tablets. He says the Teclast ones are decent.

Have you discovered the wonders of the Tachiyomi app on Android? ;-)

Stick with the IPad, the apps are better the screens are better. Even something a few years old will be better than any google tablet (even if just due to apps being tablet optimised).

I’ve got a 1st gen iPad Mini that I used to use, but it got real slow.

I recently fired it up, thinking I could wipe it and revert it back to the original iOS and it would speed up. Nope. I can’t downgrade it. And even if I could, the App Store doesn’t distribute older versions of apps that would work on those older iOS versions.

Sucks that that device is basically useless now - just because of software.

Like, if I could install some flavor of Linux on it, it could be useful.
