As an Australian it’s weird to think that New Caledonia is closer to Australia than New Zealand.
The Normans were all over the place, even guys in charge of parts of Italy were French.

I really liked Origins and Awakening. I remember having to keep upping the difficulty until I got to nightmare because my character/party build was too OP.
I had an Arcane Warrior as my main character (the combat mage class where you could use magic instead of strength and therefore use swords and heavy armor etc) who was tank, dps and area control with spells. My main and my healer both caste haste so the party moved and attacked 4x faster (2x2xnormal speed). My healer also cast miasma so every hit of ours landed and every one of the enemies missed.
Had multiple freeze spells combined with rock throw, Leanna and Alistair auto-crit special attacks so I just shattered a bunch of enemies right at the start of combat.
In Awakening I had Anders set up as Blood Mage/Spirit Healer using that loop (use HP to restore mana, mana to restore HP, repeat) to basically spam unlimited healing and offensive damage.
Mixed game. Love knight enchanter as the overpowered sequel to arcane warrior sub class in origins.
They had a separate app/website thing where you could fill out what you did in previous games without replaying them and it generates a save (because it jumped console generations).
It’s really tedious though in its MMO like gameplay. There’s mods to cut all that and just do the story bits.
The Nazis did this thing in the 30s even before the war where they encouraged a low meat, low alcohol ascetic diet and lifestyle. Which was medically good advice but materially due to certain significant food shortages.
I think that part of the answer, is that like most fascists, Caesar and his Legion are lying about how committed they are to parts of their ideology. In particular about being anti-technology. Caesar has an auto-doc. The more senior in the legion, the better the guns and armour you have. The minute the Legion has a chance to capture artillery they take it.
So they lie to their new recruits that the legion is tough and doesn’t need fancy guns just spears and machetes. In part because they don’t have enough guns for all their new recruits, but also they’ve just kidnapped and brutalized most of their new recruits, giving them guns when they could rebel is not what they want.
Similarly for their tactics. They send the recruits in human waves to probe the NCR and use them to Skirmish. But when they’re really trying to kill you, if you’re infamous, they send dudes with real guns, armour and modern tactics.

I think this guys wife tweeted about he failed at every animal rearing/homesteading project he attempted I remember “his bees abandoned him”
Presumably machinery, computer chips etc but a train full of Banh Mi would be a funny image.
Nobody resurrect naval officers from the 30s until we have rail guns.
Also I’m sure Vietnam, China and DPRK have similarly pragmatic interactions on many things between the three that they try to keep under the table from prying NATO eyes. There’s a lot of speculation that when Kim Jong Un travels to Vietnam by personal train, it’s not just a security measure, it also makes it a lot easier to skirt sanctions and bring things back and forth.
My understanding in that if you are Vietnam or even China (who have bought weapons from Israel too) you can’t buy US weapons and tech directly from them, but you can buy Israeli versions of the US stuff (or even literally the US stuff repackaged). So pragmatically if you don’t buy from them you miss out, and that’s intentional realpolitik from USA to legitimise Israel internationally. Which sucks.
Vietnam also still buy shitloads of weapons and tech from Russia before and after the Ukraine conflcit
I’m reminded about how here in Australia one of my grandparents grandparents was supposedly very dark in both skin and hair colouring and they weren’t talked about by the rest of the family, in my parent’s generation speculation ran rampant from them being Jewish to First Nations. Someone did the research and it turns out they were Sicilian.
Sorry was referencing what you said specifically, it’s just a real pop history fact that gets thrown around.
Speaking of battle axes I’ve always thought the lesbian flag with the labrys![](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/696148db-8af9-439b-ba60-030150e451c8.png)

Unfortunately it has some TERF-y associations but it should be reclaimed. Also purple represents “the lavender menace” concept.
Just like I think the pink triangle on black with its holocaust and AIDS crisis symbology is a better flag
