How much is supporting a genocidal apartheid state worth?

I wasn’t able to set up my computer early this year without using an account (maybe I just missed the option, but if it was there they buried it).

I was able to switch it to local afterwards, but there was already an unwanted link with one-drive and several of my folders, which persisted even after uninstalling one-drive, and apparently can only be fixed within one-drive’s specific settings.

To fix it I had to re-install the program, and then re-uninstall it when everything was finally disconnected. Fuck microsoft.

You can uninstall it and it will still retain some weird connection with your folders where stuff still saves to a one-drive folder which becomes impossible to delete or use normally, unless you re-install one-drive and do a bunch of stuff in the one-drive program-specific settings, and then re-un-install it, in which case it might stick.

Is there a good article or essay or study or anything that helps articulate why these NGOs suck ass and shouldn’t be trusted? It seems like every other week there’s some new NGO with some new report about america’s enemies.

Part of why I hate social media is because it elevates people with no special talent or appeal into “public figures”.

Who is Brianna Wu? I had never heard of her my entire life until a month or two ago when somebody posted about her on this site. All I know about her is she was harassed by gamer-gaters back in the early 2010s, and that she now has strong political opinions that seem largely based on who she dislikes on twitter.

Vaush, the streamer that the linked subreddit is based around. Around the start of this year (or maybe it was around the end of last year, internet stuff makes the memory hazy) he was going through his folders on stream and people saw his porn stash, recognized the names of the artists as “lolicon artists” specializing in horse-related bestiality, etc.

There were several streams on that “H3” guy’s channel that brought a lot of attention to it outside of the typical online politics circles. He was getting roasted for it for weeks, but then I guess a big chunk of his audience decided they were cool watching him until he fully Mr. Hands-es himself and dies.

“Yeah, I’m a follower of the guy that was caught with a bunch of bestiality CP, now listen to my patronizing ding-bat opinions about world politics.”

Reminder: This November it will have been 8 long years of liberals desperately coping with the 2016 general election.

I hear this kind of line so often to dismiss the influence the US has globally. It completely misses the point. The US is effectively still the most powerful country on earth, meaning they’re a major part of the broader geopolitical landscape that everybody else must respond to.

Notice also that this “well people in the Kremlin have agency, we didn’t literally force them to invade smol ukraini” reasoning goes away when they want to talk about Chinese loans in Africa, or how Georgia’s foreign influence bill is some sort of Russian plot.

Isn’t this just a shittier version of Robert Nozick’s “Wilt Chamberlain Argument”?
