The fact that they can’t just be a rare and elusive “gay person who happens to be a republican but keeps their mouth shut about it and doesn’t feel the need to hint at it every 5 seconds” speaks volumes to me.
No grifting, marginalized conservatives are like that quoted hypothetical, though, so I don’t know why I expected better than the usual.
